This October brought our 2nd Annual Phi Sigma Pi Teach For America month, and to make it even more interesting this year we ramped it up with some friendly competition and great awards!
Any Teach For America related event held from September 26, 2011 to November 11, 2011 was eligible to win in one of five categories either a $75 donation of supplies or a DonorsChoose.org donation in your Chapter’s name to the school/teacher of your choice.
Most Events Hosted
The Epsilon Alpha Chapter hosted multiple events supporting Teach For America including a Volleython in collaboration with Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a restaurant fundraiser at Salad Works, and supply drives.
Epsilon Alpha Chapter will be supporting Brother Ariana McAvoy (Delta Chi Chapter '11) and her classroom.
Most Funds Raised
The Alpha Eta Chapter raised $1,802.19 during Hope Bowl (the Chapter's co-ed flag football tournament). The proceeds were donated directly to their Teach For America classroom with L. Moyer.

Highest Chapter Participation Percentage
The Beta Zeta Chapter hosted and Informational Session with Recruitment Manager Kate Kotsko with 90% of the Chapter in attendance.
Beta Zeta Chapter will be supporting Effective and Engaging 6th Grade Math Practice
Most Innovative Event
The Beta Nu Chapter collaborated with restaurants in a local area called Collegetown and created a fundraiser called Collegetown 4 Classrooms. Students recieved discounts at restaurants by purchasing a wristband and proceeds from the sales went to the fundraiser. Additionally, a local bagel shop, Collegetown Bagels allowed the Chapter to design a unique sandwich for the promotion, which they’ve named the Teacher’s Pet. A $1 from each purchase of this very popular sandwich is contributed towards Teach For America classrooms.

Best Community/Teach For America Recruitment Manager Engagement
The Gamma Psi Chapter had a strong campaign promoting their event to the university community. Backed by the university and including the President of the university himself in their promotions, the Chapter hosted a campus-wide awareness and wellness event.
Gamma Psi Chapter will be supporting Brother Casey Sears (Gamma Psi Chapter '11) and his classroom.
