How to Organize an Alumni Organization
-
Contact the director of alumni relations to request information on all alumni located within your area. E-mail: pspfoundation@phisigmapi.org or call 717-299-4710.
-
Gauge interest. Send a general interest inquiry to all e-mail address listed in the "Area Alumni Contact Information" spreadsheet. If you would like to use the "alumni organization sample interest form," contact the director of alumni relations for a copy. E-mail: pspfoundation@phisigmapi.org or call 717-299-4710.
-
If more than five people express interest, organize an interest meeting/meet 'n greet.
-
Recruit area alumnus/a for the interest meeting/meet 'n greet. Recruitment can be by e-mail or postcard. E-mail is the most cost efficient;
however, if e-mail addresses were not provided, request the recruitment postcard template from the director of alumni relations. Mail
postcards to those alumni who do not have e-mail addresses informing them of the organizational meeting. E-mail:
pspfoundation@phisigmapi.org or call 717-299-4710.
-
If the organization garners the interest of 10 or more alumni, a petition seeking recognition must be sent to National Council. If the regional
alumni organization cannot meet the required 10 alumni, than they should continue to recruit and operate in an unofficial capacity until the
goal of 10 alumni is met.
How to Petition for Recognition
-
Alumni Chapters and Associations are required to have a minimum of 10 alumni members to petition for recognition. If the regional alumni
organization cannot meet the required10 alumni, they should continue to recruit and operate in an unofficial capacity until the goal of 10
alumni is met.
-
Each petitioning member must be a member of the National Alumni Association. Otherwise, the organization will not be recognized as an
official Phi Sigma Pi regional alumni organization.
-
The regional alumni organization must choose a name based from their geographical region. If the regional alumni organization is located near
a city, then the name of that city shall be incorporated within its official name.
