When a donor has contributed over $1,000 in lifetime giving to the National Fraternity and at least $250 within the current fiscal year, they become
eligible to join the Phi Sigma Pi Foundation, the fundraising and philanthropic arm of the Fraternity. Upon qualification, they will be sent a
letter from the National Office outlining the benefits of membership and giving them the choice to become a member.
If Phi Sigma Pi were a public corporation, its donors would be the non-voting shareholders, and Foundation members would be the voting
shareholders. The Foundation members represent the most distinguished and generous financial contributors. As such, they have
the privilege to shape the fundraising and philanthropic efforts of the Foundation by voting and running for the Foundation's Board of Directors,
serving on Foundation committees, and revising the Foundation's governing documents.
Foundation members meet annually, usually at National Convention, to discuss business and elect Directors for staggered three-year terms. The
Directors meet throughout the year to set policy and choose the strategies that the Foundation will use to enhance support for the fraternity
and its mission.
Membership in the Foundation is not for all donors, but those who truly seek to shape their brotherhood and communities will likely want to be a
part of the Foundation. Donors who fit this profile to may want evaluate the level of their donation in order to become eligible for Foundation
membership. In this way, these donors can become the new leaders in the call to build a rich community of Brothers who are connected to each
other, their fraternity, and its mission.
