Phi Sigma Pi Wins Three Awards from the Professional Fraternity Association
Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity has been honored with three awards from the Professional Fraternity Association (PFA) for outstanding contributions in mentorship, service, and professional development. These awards highlight the ways our Members, volunteers, and programs are exemplifying the ideals of Scholarship, Leadership, and Fellowship.

Dr. Elissa Weeden: Faculty Advisor Award of Excellence
Since 2000, Dr. Elissa Weeden has served as the Chapter Advisor for the Delta Alpha Chapter at Rochester Institute of Technology, guiding hundreds of students through their collegiate journeys and beyond. Inducted as an Honorary Member the same year, her early and lasting impact on the Chapter is undeniable.
Known for her compassionate mentorship, Dr. Weeden helps students navigate challenges, build confidence, and grow into leaders. Her influence extends beyond academics. She has helped preserve Chapter history, reconnected alumni with current Members, and inspired meaningful philanthropic work.
Dr. Weeden also serves as an Associate Professor at RIT, with over 25 years of teaching experience and scholarly contributions. Phi Sigma Pi joins PFA in celebrating Dr. Weeden’s extraordinary service, mentorship, and enduring legacy.

The Alpha Eta Chapter: Outstanding Community Service Award
The Alpha Eta Chapter at the University of Delaware was honored with the Outstanding Community Service Award for their heartfelt commitment to the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation and their B+ Hero, Benny Pin, along with his family.
Since meeting Benny in 2022, the Chapter has built a genuine relationship that goes far beyond fundraising. They have celebrated birthdays together, gone ice skating, enjoyed fall days at orchards, and shared countless memories that reflect the true spirit of fellowship.
In 2025, Alpha Eta raised over $22,000 for the B+ Foundation through UDance, contributing to the event’s record-breaking total of $1.8 million. Their efforts not only support families battling childhood cancer, but also fund vital research and national advocacy.
Alpha Eta’s recognition is a shining example of how Phi Sigma Pi, and the power of service, can transform lives.
The Executive Leadership Program: Outstanding Professional Program Award

Phi Sigma Pi’s Executive Leadership Program (ELP) was recognized with the Outstanding Professional Program Award for its innovation and impact in leadership development.
Launched in 2023, the ELP is a tiered program that aligns with the Fraternity’s 17 Characteristics of an Excellent Member. More than 950 Members and 100 Alumni are already participating, making it one of the most impactful initiatives in our history.
The program guides participants through four tiers:
- Leading Yourself
- Leading Others
- Leading Leaders
- Leading the Organization
Through videos, podcasts, interactive exercises, and real-time learning, Members build skills in emotional intelligence, inclusivity, strategic thinking, and more. Participants earn digital badges and certificates that showcase their professional growth and can be highlighted on LinkedIn.
The ELP strengthens chapters by equipping Members to lead effectively within Phi Sigma Pi while preparing them for success beyond college. Alumni engagement adds another layer, creating a supportive, intergenerational leadership network.
These honors highlight the many ways Phi Sigma Pi continues to live out the ideals of Scholarship, Leadership, and Fellowship.
