Level Up Your Recruitment With ChapterBuilder

August 18, 2026
ChapterBuilder

Recruitment is about more than getting names on a list. It is about creating connections, following up consistently and making sure interested students have a clear path to learn more about Phi Sigma Pi.

That is where ChapterBuilder comes in.

As Phi Sigma Pi’s official recruitment platform through our partnership with Phired Up, ChapterBuilder gives Collegiate Chapters a centralized place to organize recruitment efforts, track Potential New Members and work together throughout the recruitment process. Every Collegiate Chapter now has access, with dashboards available to Chapter Officers and Recruitment Advisors.

Whether you are a Chapter President, Recruitment Chair, recruitment leader or a Member helping with recruitment, here are a few ways to use ChapterBuilder to take your recruitment efforts to the next level.

Stop Letting Potential New Members Slip Through the Cracks

You met someone at an involvement fair. A classmate said they might be interested. Someone scanned your QR code at a tabling event. A friend mentioned Phi Sigma Pi to someone on campus.

What happens next?

Instead of relying on individual Members to remember names, phone numbers or follow-up conversations, ChapterBuilder gives your Chapter a central place to capture and manage those connections.

Every Chapter has a personalized lead submission page that can be shared at interest tables, campus events, on social media, through QR codes and with friends or classmates who are interested in learning more. Members can also submit a Potential New Member on behalf of someone they meet.

The goal is simple: If someone expresses interest in Phi Sigma Pi, give your Chapter a way to follow up.

Turn Recruitment Into a Team Effort

Recruitment should not fall on one person.

ChapterBuilder helps your entire Chapter see where recruitment efforts stand and gives Members a way to contribute. The platform includes tools for tasks, alerts, comments and assigning a main contact, helping your Chapter coordinate outreach and keep everyone moving in the same direction.

For recruitment leaders, this means less time trying to figure out who contacted whom and more time building relationships with Potential New Members.

For Members, it means you do not have to be the Recruitment Chair to make an impact.

Recruitment is everyone’s responsibility, and ChapterBuilder makes it easier to act like it.

Make Follow-Up More Intentional

Getting a Potential New Member’s information is only the beginning.

The next step is building the relationship. ChapterBuilder allows Chapters to track communication, take notes and keep important information together so that follow-up does not become an afterthought. The platform is designed around relationship tracking and helps Chapters create a repeatable recruitment process through statuses, milestones and other tools.

A quick follow-up after an event. An invitation to your next recruitment event. A conversation about their interests. A reminder to check in after they have attended an event. Those small interactions add up!

Pair ChapterBuilder With Your Other Recruitment Tools

ChapterBuilder is one part of a larger recruitment strategy.

Phi Sigma Pi’s SURGE recruitment program provides Chapters with additional tools to help increase the number of Potential New Members who enter the recruitment process. Chapters can request customized recruitment materials, use their Phi Sigma Pi webpage to share recruitment information, and utilize customized recruitment emails sent to eligible Potential New Members.

That means your recruitment strategy can work together from multiple directions:

Use your recruitment materials and social media to get attention. Use your Chapter webpage and events to encourage students to connect. Then use ChapterBuilder to make sure those connections turn into meaningful conversations.

Use the Recruitment Challenge to Your Advantage

There is also a little extra motivation to put ChapterBuilder to work this fall.

From August 1 through October 15, 2026, Chapters can participate in the ChapterBuilder Recruitment Challenge. Chapters that generate the most qualified Potential New Member leads in their enrollment tier can earn up to $1,000, with second-place Chapters receiving $500. Winning funds can be used toward future recruitment efforts, Chapter dues or National Convention registration.

Chapters compete in three enrollment-based tiers:

  • Tier 1: 1 to 15,000 enrolled students
  • Tier 2: 15,001 to 30,000 enrolled students
  • Tier 3: More than 30,000 enrolled students

So, encourage your Members to think about who they are meeting every day and make it easy for interested students to connect with your Chapter. Learn more about the ChapterBuilder Recruitment Challenge here on the Leadership Center.

Recruitment Doesn’t End With One Event

One of the biggest advantages of using a recruitment system is that your Chapter can build on its work throughout the year.

A student who is not ready to attend recruitment this week might be interested next month. Someone who cannot join this term might want to learn more next semester. A student who attends one event might need a few more conversations before they feel ready to take the next step.

ChapterBuilder helps Chapters maintain those relationships and evaluate their recruitment efforts over time.

The strongest recruitment strategies are not built around one event, one week or one Recruitment Chair. They are built around consistent outreach and intentional relationships.
